Purpose and areas of usage
The purpose of the development is to increase the solidity of the tool at the stage of grafting, intensification of cutting modes in the processing of hardly processed materials. The technology can be implemented at enterprises that manufacture cutting tools based on polycrystalline superhard material with elements of cubic boron nitride and have equipment for vacuum plasma deposition.
Main characteristics of development
The coating consists of three layers:
1. the upper Al2O3, a thickness of 1. 5 microns, which helps prevent the oxidation of the material of the working surfaces of the instrument at high temperatures
2. Intermediate NbN, thickness 3. 0 microns, which reduces abrasive adhesion of the tool
3. Lower Ti, thickness of 0. 5 microns, which provides adhesive strength of the coating - lining contact
Main advantages of development
The proposed technology of applying multi - functional nanocrystalline coatings on a cutting tool based on polycrystalline superhard material with elements of cubic boron nitride does not have domestic and foreign analogues.
Technology is in demand on the market of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus.
