The technology of growing tropical Australian crayfish in the south of Ukraine PP034
Appointment
The development is designed to expand the capabilities of domestic commercial aquaculture. Also it is used to create conditions for the production of dainty products.
Appointment
The technology provides the cultivation and reproduction of Australian tropical crayfish in artificial conditions of closed water supply systems in autumn and winter to a weight of 25 - 40 g. It is followed by growing to the marketable weight (110 g) in the ponds of southern Ukraine. To do this, it is necessary to provide appropriate conditions for their detention in winter using closed water supply systems or other systems. It can provide this type of crayfish with warm water for their reproduction and rearing of younger age groups. Ponds in southern Ukraine have the large natural food resources. They can be used for the extensive cultivation of Australian crayfish in monoculture. As a result of the developed technology, tropical Australian crayfish with an average weight of 110g (some of them reached 187g) were obtained for a one - year growing cycle.
Main advantages
The experience of Russian scientists have developed a technology for growing this type of crayfish in the Astrakhan region. They have a fairly successful result in the cultivation of commercial crayfish on an annual cycle weighing 50 - 70 g. The scientists proves the prospects for the development of technology for growing Australian crayfish in the South of Ukraine. The advantage of the development is ponds in the South of Ukraine. They have high natural bioproductive capacity. It gives the opportunity to grow Australian tropical crayfish with the extensive technology without using feeding.
State of intellectual property protection
Received a patent of Ukraine for a utility model
